Surgical Options
In certain cases, surgery may be necessary to relieve pain. New procedures using miniature surgical equipment, video cameras and other technology have been developed in recent years. Most surgeries are faster, less invasive and more effective than ever before. Surgery is a treatment of last resort, but it has a place in the treatment of pain. In general, it is considered only after all other possible conservative treatments have failed.
Dr. Kube will carefully explain the risks and benefits you agree to any surgery. You and your family members and you should understand what the surgery can and cannot accomplish; what the probability of short and long-term success is; and what side effects or complications may be experienced as a result.
