Health & Wellness
Treat your body. Heal your mind. Lift your life.
At the Prairie Spine and Pain Institute we approach medicine and spine treatment in a comprehensive manner for the good of our patients. We form a circle of experts across several disciplines to examine your condition and approach it from several sides rather than a single solution. We don’t just believe in treating the spine, rather, we treat the patient physically and mentally. It is the best way to not only improve your quality of life, but to change it for the better.
Eat a variety of foods
Eating a variety of foods assures you of getting the nutrients you need for good health. The following table lists some of the major vitamins and minerals along with their functions. Each nutrient is important for your body to perform well.
Innovative, Exciting Rehabilitation
We offer some of the most innovative rehabilitation equipment available anywhere. Our Power Cor e for Life system is breaking new ground in the treatment of chronic pain conditions. This is the same system used by some professional sports organizations, even the Navy SEALS. It allows us to establish your baseline performance and continually demonstrate your progress throughout the rehabilitation process. This system also allows us to initiate exercise in patients who normally could not tolerate exercise as part of their treatment plan. Patients also enjoy the gaming aspect of the computer programs and really have fun!
Get Active, Be Stronger
Exercise is a vital part of improving and maintaining normal, comfortable back function. It is important to exercise regularly so you can maintain your fitness level. Regular exercise is important to prevent back pain and injury. A program of strengthening, stretching and aerobic exercises will improve your overall fitness level.
Relaxation and stress management
Negative thoughts, stress, worry, and muscle tension contribute to pain. Relaxation and stress management techniques can help individuals gain more control over their body and thoughts as well as improve coping with pain. Examples of relaxation and stress management include deep breathing exercises, progressive relaxation, and guided imagery.
We also firmly believe that education is a key part of your treatment plan. Our staff of professionals is dedicated to teaching you about your pain condition. The more we can help you understand how to help yourself improve, the better your quality of life will be.
