Dr. Kube has been asked to become an Oral Examiner for the American Board of Spine Surgery. This organization was formed in 1997 to help address the needs if this unique specialty that has emerged from the fields of neurosurgery and orthopaedics.
The American Board of Spine Surgery (ABSS) has a primary goal to assist the public and the medical profession by setting educational and post-graduate training requirements for spine surgeons and by the promotion of continuing quality assurance programs. The spine board certification process is a two part process consisting of written and oral exams. ABSS certification requires prior board certification in orthopedics or neurosurgery as well as fellowship training and/or practice focus in spine surgery. Dr. Kube assists with the oral part of the exam and writes questions for the written exam.
Dr. Kube is currently one of only 6 surgeons in Illinois who has attained certification by the ABSS.
