Dr. Richard Kube, MD, is the CEO, founder and owner of Prairie Spine & Pain Institute in Peoria, Ill., which focuses on the treatment of spinal disorders, research and education. He is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon who performs minimally invasive, motion-preserving surgical techniques.

Dr. Kube is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon and founder of Prairie SurgiCare, which opened in April 2012. He led the project from blue prints to construction and full accreditation in three months as an addition to the practice he founded, Prairie Spine and Pain Institute. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Kube serves as a faculty member at the University of Illinois School of Medicine in Peoria and sits on the board of directors for the American Board of Spine Surgery.

Dr. Kube is founder and owner of Prairie Spine & Pain Institute and Prairie Surgicare, a certified surgical facility. He is dedicated to minimally invasive surgical and nonoperative techniques and has served in various committees within the North American Spine Society and International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery. Dr. Kube is also on the board of directors for the American Board of Spine Surgery, where he serves as treasurer. He has consulting agreements within the spine industry and a special interest in strategic planning and entrepreneurship. He is the advisor to Twisted Sun Innovations, a Hygrogen energy company working on renewable energy solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense. Dr. Kube earned his medical degree at Saint Louis University, where he also completed a residency in orthopedic surgery. His additional training includes a spine fellowship in Louisville, Ky., with Spine Surgery PSC.
